Noted author, Dr. Joy Lawson Davis will be doing a book signing for her seminal book, Bright, Talented & Black: A Guide for African American Gifted Learners.

In Bright, Talented & Black, Dr. Joy Davis offers practical information based on her personal experience as a parent, as well as a gifted education professional. This book will help African American parents, as well as educators, to better understand how to work with these special needs children.

Dr. Davis is Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Teacher Education at Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA. Dr. Davis has provided services to districts across the country, in the Caribbean and South Africa. She has published and presented widely and holds two degrees (Masters and Doctorate) in gifted education from The College of William and Mary in Virginia.
