Detroit grew from an obscure trading post founded in 1701 to an industrial giant in the 1950’s only to collapse and be revealed as “one of the nation’s greatest urban failures.” Author Scott Martelle takes a look at the good, the bad and the ugly which combined to form the history of Detroit in his new book: Detroit: A Biography. Books will be available for purchase and signing by the author following the presentation.
